Where do you think the spinning top ending points to in Inception?

I just finished the movie and I’m still stuck on that final shot of the spinning top. My immediate thought was that it meant he was still dreaming, but the way he just walked away to his kids without checking it makes me wonder if the point was that he didn’t care anymore. I can’t decide if the ambiguity is brilliant or just frustrating.

I walked out feeling like the spinning top wasn't a test of reality as much as a choice. He seemed to walk toward something steadier, even if the image kept spinning in our heads.

I keep flip-flopping—sometimes I read it as dream, sometimes as a sign he finally cares more about real life than the loop. It's messy, which I guess is the point.
