Which streaming service has the best 4K HDR content and bitrate on a new TV?

I just got a new 4K TV and I’m trying to figure out which streaming service actually has the most content that looks good on it. I’m a bit overwhelmed comparing the bitrates and HDR formats between them all.

I hear you. On my 4K HDR setup Netflix often looks solid, but it isn’t totally consistent. Some titles land in Dolby Vision and pop, others stay in standard HDR and don’t wow as much. Feels a bit patchy week to week.

I did a quick side-by-side last month across Netflix and Prime Video. Netflix had more titles in the better formats and the bitrates on those titles looked crisper than Prime’s equivalents. Not perfect, but that’s been my sense.

Do you care more about the size of the catalog or that the HDR looks reliably good on most of the titles?

I keep worrying maybe the real problem is how my TV handles tone mapping. I fiddled with a couple of picture modes and the same scene felt different, which makes the whole comparison feel pointless.
