Why do Crohn's symptoms worsen before my period?
#1
I’ve been managing my Crohn’s for years, but lately I’m noticing a pattern where my symptoms seem to get worse a week or two before my period starts. It’s making it hard to know if it’s a true flare or just my cycle. Has anyone else experienced this kind of predictable worsening tied to their menstrual cycle?

i noticed a pattern where my gut gets noisier a week or two before my period i keep a rough diary and it lines up with my cycle more than with food or stress sometimes i worry its a real flare other times i doubt it and just wait

with Crohn's i found it hard to tell flare from cycle alarms i tried a symptom journal and asked my doctor to look at timing too i did a small tweak around that week and watched what happened but the change was subtle and not clear cut

one time i drifted into thinking it was just stress or sleep and then the cycle came back anyway so i stopped chasing reasons and kept living day to day and the pattern showed up again when i least expected

has anyone talked to a doctor about a hormonal link and whether adjusting meds around the cycle helps?
