Why do i always seem to be the only one asking questions in group chats?

I’ve noticed that whenever I’m in a group chat, I end up being the only one who ever asks questions to keep the conversation going. If I stop, everything just goes silent, and it makes me wonder if people are actually interested in talking or if they just feel obligated to reply to me.

Yeah I used to be the one peppering every thread with questions in our group chat. After a while I noticed people would reply out of courtesy but not really engage. I started backing off, posting a quick update and one prompt instead of a flood, and the vibe shifted a little but it still wobbles.

I wonder if they’re simply reading and moving on. I tried switching who kicks things off and gave space for others to react, which bought a few more back-and-forths for a week or two, then it quieted again.

It might be that the format itself is the barrier. I once suggested a quick call for decisions and some folks showed up, which felt more real, but it wasn’t sustainable for everyone.

I keep thinking maybe the real problem isn’t the questions but the expectations I bring to the chat. Sometimes I end up feeling disappointed even when the group is doing normal chat stuff. Not sure what to do next.
