Why do i feel a sudden wave of sadness after a therapy session?
#1
I’ve been in therapy for anxiety for a while, but lately I’ve noticed a strange pattern where I feel a sudden, intense wave of sadness right after a session ends. It’s not about what we discussed, which is usually productive, but this heavy emotional drop as soon as I walk out the door. I’m wondering if this is a normal part of the process or if it means something isn’t quite working.

That happened to me after a session too The room felt quieter and then a heavy wave hit as soon as I stepped outside

I started a small routine after sessions a short walk and a simple plan for the first thing I do when I get home It helped me ride the drop a bit more

Do you notice it only after certain topics or does it show up after every session?

Maybe the bigger issue is not the sadness at all but the feeling that therapy should make things better right away I am not sure and that doubt makes the drop feel heavier
