Why do i keep deleting messages right after sending in group chats?
#1
I’ve noticed that when I’m texting or in group chats, I’ll often send a message and then immediately delete it before anyone can reply. I’m not even sure why I do it—maybe I second-guess how it sounds or worry it’s off-topic. Does anyone else get that sudden urge to retract a message the moment it’s sent?

Yep that happens to me all the time I send something and delete it fast I worry it sounds harsh or off topic

I tried delaying the send by a minute a few times and that pause made me rethink what I wrote and most of the time I kept it instead of deleting

Maybe the real issue is the group vibe not the message itself the fear of stirring drama or showing the wrong tone is what makes me want to retract

I kept a tiny log for a week counting how often I delete right after sending and I found most deletes happened within ten seconds so it is a reflex not a thought

I once drifted to a different topic while typing and then came back to the chat and realized the first line felt off so I deleted it and started over it was weirdly automatic and kind of annoying
