Why do smart home automations fail randomly even with a good hub?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my smart lights and thermostat to work together for morning routines, but the automations keep failing at random times. I’m not sure if the issue is with my hub, the Wi-Fi, or the apps themselves not communicating properly.

Ive had days when the automations just fail for no clear reason The hub rebooted once in the night and the morning routine did not run until I nudged it manually It felt random and frustrating

I started keeping a simple log of when each thing fired Then I saw the lights did not react for a bit after the thermostat changed It made me think there was a delay or a gap in the messages

Could be the wifi channel getting crowded in the morning I moved the hub to a fixed two four gigahertz channel and saw the routines behave more reliably for a while

Not sure if the problem is the real root cause Maybe cloud latency is playing a role or a single device that keeps retrying But I am not certain what to test first Do you see the issue on all routines or just one
