Why do some videos go viral online while others don’t?

I just saw that video of the guy trying to return a half-eaten rotisserie chicken to the store, and the manager’s deadpan reaction is everywhere now. What even makes something like that blow up online, when a million other weird customer moments don’t?

I caught that video clip too. There’s something about a routine store moment flipped by a totally out of the ordinary demand that grabs you. The deadpan reaction makes it feel like a tiny social experiment, or a break in the normal flow of a grocery trip.

I did a quick scroll after I watched it. The shares surged after a couple of people stitched in their own reactions, which tells me a few loud voices push it far faster than the original clip.

Maybe the real issue isn’t the half eaten chicken at all but how refunds and complaints get turned into a shared drama. Are we rewarding the spectacle more than actual resolution?

I keep thinking about the camera angle and the silence after the outburst. It felt like a little theater set up, with a boring aisle and a stopwatch of patience. Then the clip catches fire anyway, and I still can’t tell if it’s the moment or the edit that did it.
