Why does Ichigo's bankai feel underwhelming in later Bleach battles?

I’m rewatching *Bleach* and I just can’t get over how Ichigo’s Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu, feels so underwhelming in its final uses compared to its first reveal. The initial speed and pressure were incredible, but later it seems like just a standard power-up. Did anyone else feel this shift diluted its unique impact?

Yeah, the first time you see Tensa Zangetsu cut through air it feels like a freight train. Later in the show it’s more like a big sword with a glow, and the punch loses that immediate danger.

I rewatched a couple of fights and kept noticing the speed lines and the tempo slow down after the early arc, like they saved the payoff for style rather than impact.

For me the shift might be that the initial reveal came with mystery and surprise; once you know the power, the moment can feel familiar rather than shocking.

Do you think the problem is with the writing or with how the animation framed the aura around it?
