Why does my car pull to the right after about 20 minutes on the highway?

I’ve noticed my car pulls slightly to the right when I’m driving on a straight, level road, but only after about twenty minutes of highway driving. The alignment was checked and is fine, and tire pressures are even. I’m wondering if something in the suspension or brakes is warming up and causing this drift.

Yeah, I’ve bumped into this after a long highway stretch. It would feel like the steering wanted to drift a bit to the right once everything warmed up.

In my case the brakes getting hot caused a pull too; a caliper or pad dragging on one side can grab a touch more when hot and tug the car a bit.

Suspension wise I’ve thought about worn bushings or a loose control arm. They don’t scream but they can show up more when things heat up and the parts expand.

I actually swapped the front tires side to side once to test it. After the swap the pull moved to the other side, which suggested it wasn’t the alignment.

Sometimes road crown and long straightaways can make a tiny issue feel bigger after a while, even if nothing is obviously wrong.

If it sticks around, a mechanic might check for sticking brakes, warped rotors, or a bearing issue—things that only show up once they heat up.

Do you notice it only at certain speeds or when you ease off the gas and brake lightly?
