Why does my character T-pose during combat after armor mod install?

I finally got the custom armor mod I wanted working, but now my character’s animations are completely broken during combat. The model just T-poses whenever I draw a weapon. Has anyone else run into this with gear that uses a custom skeleton? I’m not sure if it’s a load order problem or if the mod itself is conflicting with my animation overhaul.

I've run into this with armor mods that use their own rig. The weapon draw animation fights with the armor bones, so the model often ends up in a T pose when you equip.

In my case it wasn't load order. It felt like the armor was remapping the armature and the overhaul couldn't retarget those bones. I tried a compatibility patch and kept the armor, but some other clips got messed up.

I once looked at a quick log and saw bone name mismatches. The armor swapped elbow/shoulder bones and the animation pack couldn't make sense of it, so the draw stayed still. I swapped to vanilla bone names in the armor and it helped, but I lost some gear-specific motions.

Do you think the real problem is the animation pack not loading after you draw and the armor is just exposing it, or is it the armor rig itself?
