Why does my game crash to desktop with memory access violation after 10 minutes?

I’m hitting a consistent crash to desktop about ten minutes into every play session, and the only clue is an event viewer error mentioning a memory access violation. I’m not sure if it’s a driver thing or something corrupted in the game files, but verifying them didn’t help. Has anyone else run into this kind of persistent crash with a similar pattern?

Yep, had a similar pattern. The game would run fine for a while and then crash with a memory access violation. I ran MemTest on the RAM and one stick showed errors. Replaced it and the crashes stopped.

I tried driver updates and did a clean reinstall of the GPU driver with DDU. Then I checked temps during a run and the crash stopped after the clean install.

For me an overlay from recording software caused the crash. I disabled in game overlay and Discord overlay, and it stayed up.

Mods or DLC can do strange things too. I ran the game clean with no mods and it was stable for a day, added one mod back and it crashed again.

I’m not sure the problem is the root cause. Sometimes the crash is a symptom of something else happening in the background.

One quick question: does the crash still happen if you run the game with no mods, no overlays, and a minimal background load?
