Why does my Instagram feed feel like an ad all the time?

I’ve noticed my Instagram feed has become nothing but people trying to sell me things or promote their brand. It feels like every post is an ad, even from accounts I used to follow for genuine content. Has anyone else’s experience with social media platforms shifted this way, where the organic feel is just gone?

Yeah, same here. I used to actually look forward to a few creators, now it feels like every post is a promo. I started unfollowing obvious brands and muting accounts that push sales, and after a week the feed loosened up a bit, but then it snapped back.

I notice it most on reels. Scrolling for a couple of minutes and it’s almost like every other clip is a sponsored post or a brand pitch. I stopped tapping into some topics and that helped for a day, but then the sequence started looping again.

Sometimes I drift into a different corner of the app where people post just life stuff, and it feels more human for a minute. Then I come back to the feed and the vibe is back to brands.
