Why does my phone get hot on a car wireless charger and slow down?
#1
I just got a new car with a wireless charging pad, but my phone gets so hot while it’s charging on there that it actually dims the screen and slows down. Has anyone else had this happen with their car's built-in charger? I'm worried it's going to hurt the battery, but I don't know if it's just my phone or a common thing with these pads.

Yeah mine does that sometimes on long drives. The phone gets hot and the screen dims and it starts to feel slow. I wonder if it is normal with wireless pads.

I tried taking the phone out of its case and switching off wireless charging when I am not using it and it cooled down quicker.

Could the heat be the real issue and not the pad I am worried about battery health long term I am not sure how much heat is safe for a phone during wireless charging?

One time I tried a different charger in a rental car and it still felt warm The drift was that the charger itself might be the culprit but the heat stayed on the phone even after a ride and I did not get a clear fix.
