Why does my throat feel like something’s stuck even though it looks normal?
#1
I've had this persistent feeling of something stuck in my throat for over a month now, but my doctor says my throat looks completely normal. It’s not painful, just this constant, annoying sensation that makes me want to clear my throat all the time, and it’s starting to really bother me.

I had something similar a few years back. It started as a small tickle that wouldn't go away and made me want to clear my throat all the time. My doctor said the exam looked fine. It wasn’t painful, just annoying. I remember lying awake and thinking I was imagining it until I slept. I tried a humidifier, more water, and taking it easier on late conversations. It ebbed and flowed but didn’t vanish.

One thing I did was keep a rough log of when the sensation felt strongest—like after coffee or when the office air is dry. That didn’t solve it, but it helped me notice patterns. I played with a humidifier, watched my water intake, and tried to be gentler with dairy and spicy foods. None of it cured it, but the days it was worse seemed to line up with dry air and talking a lot.

I keep thinking maybe it’s not one big thing but a mix of small triggers that got misread as a symptom. Could be reflux, could be postnasal drip, or even tension from staring at screens. I’m not convinced any single explanation fits, and that makes it hard to know what to try next without more tests or time.

Could stress or anxiety be part of it?
