Why does my wearable sleep data show deep sleep but i still feel drained?
#1
I’ve been tracking my sleep with a wearable for months, and I’m confused because it says I get plenty of deep sleep but I still wake up feeling completely drained. My energy is just gone by mid-afternoon, and I can’t figure out if the data is misleading me or if something else is wrecking my recovery.

I've worn a similar tracker for months and it kept telling me I had good deep sleep, but I still felt wiped by 3pm. I started logging workouts and meals on the same days, and I noticed the days I skipped workouts or ate late, I felt worse even though the app showed sleep was fine.

I tried nudging my bedtime earlier by about 20 minutes and kept a strict wake time for two weeks. Grogginess didn’t vanish, but the mornings felt slightly clearer.

Could it be that the issue isn’t the deep sleep count at all, but something like total sleep time, sleep fragmentation, or how rested you feel between alarms?

I did a small trial—no screens an hour before bed, a chill playlist, the numbers still looked fine, but the afternoon crash stayed. Not sure if that fixes it.
