Why does real-time bus tracking seem so unreliable on this route?

With all the smartphone hardware updates coming out, I'm trying to understand which ones actually matter for everyday users. We see specs like faster processors, better cameras, and new display technologies, but what improvements are people actually noticing in their daily use?

I've been testing the latest iPhone 16 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and while the specs look impressive on paper, I'm curious about real-world experiences. Are the camera upgrades actually producing better photos in normal conditions? Do the processor improvements translate to noticeable speed increases?

For those who follow tech gadget unboxings and best tech gadgets review content, what are the consensus opinions on which hardware updates are worth upgrading for?

I’ve been trying to use the bus more to get downtown, but I keep running into the same frustrating thing—the schedule says one thing, but the actual arrival feels completely random. I’ll check the app and see a bus is due in 5 minutes, only to watch that time jump to 15 a few seconds later. Does anyone else feel like real-time tracking is just an optimistic suggestion, or is it something about my specific route?

Yeah, that inconsistency is exactly what makes me doubt the app. Real-time tracking feels like a promise the system can’t always keep, especially when a 5 minute window suddenly becomes much longer.

From a data nerd angle, those jumps usually come from how the feed is updated: GPS ping delays, detours, or the transit authority's server lag. Real-time tracking only works as well as the signals feeding it.

Could the bus be detouring for road work and the app isn’t catching it in time? I swear I’ve seen routes flip directions mid commute.

I’m a bit skeptical the tool helps if reliability is the main thing. Real-time tracking is nice for planning, but it won’t fix the underlying issues like frequency or traffic.

Maybe look at headways instead of arrivals. If buses run every eight minutes, that five minute estimate is optimistic. It reframes what on time even means.

As a reader and writer, I notice the app trains your expectations—rhythms matter more than punctuality; the moment you expect precision you start feeling betrayed.

Have you tried comparing the stop's actual board with the app over a few days? It might reveal whether the problem is your route or the feed.
