Why does the combat feel floaty in this open-world RPG leaked footage?

I just saw that leaked gameplay snippet for the new open-world RPG, and the combat looked so floaty and disconnected. It’s got me worried the whole feel of the game might be off, like your hits don’t have any real weight behind them. Has anyone else who saw it felt that way, or am I just seeing things?

Yeah I saw it too. The swords looked like they were swinging through air and the enemies barely reacted. It gave the whole combat a floaty vibe.

I tried not to read too much into a clip, but I rewatched a few frames and wondered if it’s just placeholder animation. In other games those first looks were rough, then they nailed it later.

I’ve played games where hit feel depends on camera sway and timing. In that snippet the timing looked off, like there were missing impact frames.
