Why does the in-game map freeze for two seconds after the latest patch?

I just installed the new patch and now my game freezes for a solid two seconds every time I open the in-game map. It happens without fail, and it's making navigation during combat impossible. I'm not sure if it's a memory leak or something with the new assets loading.

I had the same two second freeze when I open the map after the patch. It stops me mid fight and then it comes back.

It seems to happen every time the map UI pops up even if I am in a safe area.

Have you checked if verifying files or rolling back the patch helps and if the freeze still happens with no mods active?
