Why is my predictive text echoing my partner's phrases?
#1
I’ve noticed my phone’s predictive text is starting to suggest phrases that sound exactly like things my partner would say, based on our shared messages. It makes me wonder how much of my own communication style is now just an average of the people I text most, and if that’s subtly changing how I think.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. The phrases my partner uses pop up in mine and it feels weirdly normal now, like a mini echo chamber in my pocket.

I think the keyboard mainly mirrors patterns from what you text most, not some deep brain shift, but it’s strange to realize how quickly you pick up someone else’s cadence.

Maybe the bigger question isn’t the phrases but why you text that person so often, or what you’re trying to signal with those messages.

I noticed it too and muted some features for a while, cleared suggestions, and it did feel less invasive, though I missed the quick replies.

Sometimes I worry we overanalyze tiny cues from devices, and then overcorrect in real life.

I caught myself typing and the auto-complete finished with something my partner would say.

Is it actually changing how you think, or is it just making you notice your own habit of copying others? I’m not sure.
