Why is the endgame grind in the new expansion so tedious?

I've been trying to get into the new expansion, but the endgame progression feels like a total slog. I'm stuck grinding the same three activities for a tiny chance at the gear piece I need, and my friends who play more casually have already lost interest.

I hear you. I chased that same thing for weeks and the endgame progression really did feel like a slog. Grinding the same three activities for a tiny chance at a single gear piece wore me down fast. I tried mixing in a few shorter sessions, swapping roles for variety, and keeping a tiny log of when a drop showed up. It helped a bit, but the vibe stayed grindy and my group drifted apart.

One thing I did was set tiny, non loot goals, like a 30 minute sprint or clearing one run cleanly. It kept me going longer, but the reward loop still felt stingy. Eventually I paused the chase and played whatever felt less repetitive.

Do you think maybe the real issue isn't the grind itself but that the rewards just don't land for casual players? I keep coming back and wondering if there's a different angle I'm missing.

Honestly I tried to push through, but when friends loot interest faded, I ended up playing on my own or dropping the activity entirely. Not a clean solution, just honesty about how it felt to keep showing up for something that wasn't clicking.
