Why isn't android auto navigation showing on my car screen?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my phone’s navigation to show up on my car’s center screen using Android Auto, but the map just won’t project no matter what cable I use. The music and other apps connect fine, so I’m not sure if it’s a setting on my phone or something in the car’s software that’s blocking it.

Yeah I had a similar thing last month My phone would connect for music and messages but the map would just sit there I swapped to a heavier USB cable and used a different port then rebooted both the phone and the car screen It finally came through after a few minutes and I had to unplug and plug again to keep it working

Im starting to think it is a car setting not the phone The head unit has modes where navigation is blocked to save power or keep the layout clean I tried switching to a simpler display mode and the map showed for a moment then vanished

One thing I would try is to forget the device and re pair it Then reboot both ends and wait a bit before trying again I did that once and it helped a little but not every time

I drifted off thinking about the screen resolution and the timing of when apps launch I paused and used the car built in maps for a drive then came back to the phone idea The short version is I kept trying different cables and ports but still not reliable
