Why won't my smart lights and thermostat sync properly?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my smart lights and thermostat to work together properly, but they just won’t sync up the way I imagined. My living room lights turn on at sunset, but the heat kicks down like the room is empty, so I end up sitting in a bright, chilly space. It feels like the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, and I’m wondering if anyone else has hit this wall with their own setup.

I hear you. My living room lights switch on at sunset too, but the thermostat sometimes drops the temp like no one’s home. I end up sitting in a bright, chilly room and wondering who’s calling the shots.

I tried one routine that tied them together, and for a week it almost felt right. Then the heat kicked down and the lights did their own thing again. Kind of makes you doubt the whole setup, like one lever pulls the other in a completely different direction.

Sometimes I wonder if the real issue is the sensors/locations, not the rules. I’ll be sure the thermostat says a comfy 72 but the couch feels cold and the lamp glare is loud. I kept an eye on it for a couple days and noted the gap between reading and feel was there even when I hadn’t changed anything.

Do you have a central hub or are you just running everything from the vendor app and the cloud rules?
